In addition to these main components of fruits in general, red fruits include the presence of polyphenols such as anthocyanins that contain beneficial effects for their properties. According to the Association of the Industry of Juices and nectars of  fruits and vegetables from the European Union, juices are an important source of vitamins and minerals in the total diet.


A European study stressed the fact that 100 % of fruit juices and vegetables helps and reduce the risk factors associated with certain diseases. The AIJN attributed many health benefits to the polyphenols present in vegetables and especially red fruits.

In principle , the polyphenols are absorbed rapidly in the stomach and the small intestine and are metabolized in the organism , retaining its antioxidant properties.


The benefits of juicing
According to a report by the Institute Pasteur, some of the beneficial properties of the juice to human health are:

* Cardiovascular Properties: Scientists have shown that eating a high amount of polyphenols have a tonic effect on the heart, improving blood circulation strengthening and preventing thrombus formation in blood vessels . These properties are mainly attributed to the flavonoid quercetin.


* Anticancer properties : Numerous studies have shown that many polyphenols , especially flavonoids , inhibit the initiation, promotion and progression of cancer cells and therefore tumors.


* Properties for lowering cholesterol : Scientists shows that intake of concentrate red grape juice  increases the capacity antioxidant and protects against LDL cholesterol oxidation producing benefits.


* Antioxidant Properties : polyphenols in plants belonging to the group of flavonoids act as antioxidants . Antioxidant activity of polyphenols is due to its facility to reduce the production of free radicals , either by inhibition of the enzymes involved or by chelation with metals responsible for the generation of free radicals.


* Inflammatory and analgesic properties: Polyphenols as hesperidin present in orange, are used in the treatment of certain diseases such as arthritis. Tannins are another group of  polyphenols that having astringent, vasoconstrictor and anti-inflammatory properties and can be used in the treatment of hemorrhoids.


* Beneficial properties for diabetes: Anthocyanins have very beneficial effects against diabetes.On the one hand are involved in glucose uptake,and secondly exert protection to pancreatic cells. Studies show that anthocyanins can stimulate insulin secretion, being the most potent stimulant pelargonidin.
