Many people complain of having a bad memory, but in reality the cause of your forgetfulness may be more in the lack of attention that in a memory problem. If you do not exercise it, with the passage of time could lose it.

Tips and how to keep it in shape with memorizing techniques.


All we  blame for the everyday forgetfulness to a problem of bad memory. And if you have frecuently forgetfulness, it is time to worry about.

But maybe not because his memory goes from bad to worse, as you might think, but because you do not pay any attention to what you do; in other words not used it and never exercises it.

What is serious to continue as well is that if you are not using your memory now  in  perhaps in the future may be you will have serious drawbacks.

The majority of the forgetfulness is due to the fact that the people do not organise information. "The people retracted or inattentive does not encode the data and when they have to remember believe that it is the memory that doesn't work for them,".

The memory works as a pianist, who in base of training and motivated with his concert practice up to refine every detail of his musical interpretation.

People who do not have motivation or incentive let pass things without attention and virtually his memory lives on permanent holiday.

The basic principle of the mnemonics is to use the best features of the brain to encode information, explain the researches. An important ally is the imagination, it helps to build links between the different information, which allows them to be remembered with ease.

* Associate what you want to remember with something that was familiar. For example, if you are relating the map of Italy with a boot-shaped, it will be easier to remember as it is.

* Organize and meet. If you have to remember a list of names, memorize the list in groups of three, for example, to learn more easily.

* Rhyme or create a new word with the initials of what you want to memorize: Use musical tunes, acronyms from to learn and retain new information.

For example, to learn the names of the planets you can use some days of the week. Monday (Moon),Sunday (Sun) or Saturday (Saturn).

* Study in short periods and frequent. The memory needs time to process content.

* Do not try to memorize at a time when your emotional state is a chaos, this decreases the possibility of performance.

* Read often. With this wide your concepts and exercises the memory.

* Say it aloud. The vocalizing by yourself and hear it, repeating new information are more likely to withhold this information.

* Avoid the routine. Make periodic changes in their daily lives to keep the mind alert. Change of whereabouts of bus, reacomode furniture or use the left hand to open the door. Make the brain to perceive differences.

* But also develop routines. Be organized to aid the memory. Choose a special site for those objects which often loses, as a keychain or the glasses.

* Work with the mind. As any other part of the body, the brain needs exercise to function optimally. Play chess,Checkers,Backgammon, do crossword puzzles, learn foreign languages,do not use the calculator for basic math, in summary, keep the brain active.

* Keep your mind open to new ideas, this stimulates the brain.

*Make meditation or yoga,this "passive" introspection can activate brain´s inusual  areas and make us more actives in all of our daily activities.
