Sunlight Reduces The Cholesterol

It is known that cholesterol is a substance that is found only in the meat, poultry and animal products such as eggs, milk and cheese. Cholesterol is not found in fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains, etc.

Vitamin D absorption
Our bodies produce cholesterol of the fats, oils, sugars and proteins.Cholesterol is a member of the steroid family.

It was at 1,904 when a scientist researcher discovered that sunlight could transform the cholesterol into vitamin D. The skin has a rich amount of cholesterol, and this cholesterol moves constantly between the skin and the blood stream.

If skin is removed , then the cholesterol of the blood moves toward the skin to replace the lost cholesterol.

Vitamin D sunlight
It has been found that not only the light from the sun will cause a significant and early reduction in the amount of total cholesterol metabolized throughout the body. When the skin is exposed to the light of the sun the cholesterol is destroyed so quickly and a magnitude as to the total amount of cholesterol in the body is reduced.

A study was conducted using 30 patients who had hardening of the arteries. Each one of these patients lost their cholesterol level after the first treatment of sunlight. Other studies with larger numbers of patients found similar results.

Sunlight lowering high blood pressure
A study done at the Tulane University on the effects of ultraviolet light in the blood pressure, there was a marked reduction in blood pressure that lasted 5-6 days. In other studies made in different individuals, the blood pressure fell an average of 6 mmHg systolic and 8 mmHg in the diastolic pressure after a single treatment of sunlight. In people with high blood pressure the effect is more emphatic.

In some patients the systolic pressure has been lowered to 40 mmHg and diastolic up to 20 mmHg. Contrary to the views held more common, the diastolic blood pressure is not apparently more important than the systolic blood pressure.

It is believed that the systolic blood pressure is increased by the age. But the famous Framingham study showed that elderly patients with a high systolic pressure had a mortality rate significantly a little high than their contemporaries with the lower systolic pressure.
