Antiperspirants And Deodorants

The perspiration is a normal function of the body. Basically  three things are achieved when one sweats: controls the body temperatureby cooling, certain wastes are eliminated from the body  and the skin is kept fresh and elastic.

The sweating was never suspended: the body constantly sweating - up to one liter per day even when we are  submersed in the water. The majority of the perspiration is produced by a secretion of the endocrine glands of the sweating - glands distributors on almost the entire surface of the body´s skin.

Currently the endocrine glands are active only during the exercise, in hot days or during states of nervousness or pain.

Millions of Americans are concerned about the problem of sweating and what buy to combat the problem.
Americans spend about $2000 billion ( $1.7 ) in deodorants and antiperspirants each year.
MUM was the first commercial product of deodorant sold in this country in 1888. Contains the antibacterial zinc oxide and is applied with the finger.
Before this had been used ammonia and water, talcum powder and perfume.

Antiperspirants
The antiperspirants arrived a few years later but the first products in this field were plagued with a large number of problems. At that time many antiperspirants were a solution of aluminum chloride. Is there a difference between a deodorant and antiperspirant?

Yes, the antiperspirant prevents the development of the smell of sweat. It is designed to combat odor, but does not keep you dry because does not reduce the amount of sweat. The deodorants simply disguise the smell.

An antiperspirant reduces the amount of sweat that reaches the surface of the skin. It is designed to reduce the amount of moisture.

Antiperspirants are more complicated, both in composition and in action. Like the deodorants almost always contain bactericidal agents however they do nott stop there because their intention is to prevent the moisture like the smell.

The packaging always indicate a list of active ingredients, the most common being the salts of aluminum chloride, sulfate, hydrochloride, although zinc, zirconium and other compounds are also part of the formula.

In terms of composition and action the antiperspirants are very similar to the facial cleaners. The antiperspirants contain astringent that become inflamed and coagulated protein of the skin thereby reducing the pores through which is discharged the sweat. The astringents are composed of several aluminum salts.

This aluminum is readily absorbed through the skin and we know that aluminum is a poison to the human body.

Finding a natural deodorant
Cleaning is the first step in combating sweat. A daily bath or shower, preferably in the evening, in accordance with an appropriate rinse is required.

Also drinking a minimum two liters of water per day will help to keep clean the blood streamm which will reduce the amount of poisons that the skin has to delete.

A natural deodorant that we could use is a fresh lemon, cut in half and rubbed in the armpit. If the lemon acid irritates you, can dilute it in water or we may find a few good natural deodorants in health food stores.
Make sure you read the labels which contained the ingredients to find out if it is really natural.
