Properties of the essential oil of Juniper

Juniper Oil

This perennial shrub that constantly gives berries grows in the entire northern hemisphere, although its essential oil improves the further south you will find this plant. Its leaves are short spiky and  huddle together in spirals of three.

Are trees  unisexual odiódicos, i.e. there are male and female members. The flowers grow in both but the berries fructify in the female.

Are green and when they are mature they become black.


The oil is extracted by steam distillation of these berries and texture is smooth, transparent color with a bright greenish-yellow and an aroma that reminds the pine.


Applications of juniper essential oil
- Diluted in immersion bath, is soothing, analgesic, and relieves tension and stress.

- Is the essential oil antidepressant par excellence. By placing it on the palm of your hand at some distance from the skin, face, solar plexus, the person feels quickly raised.

- Is a great local stimulant,diluted is useful in massage, for rheumatism, arthritis, muscle aches or problems caused by sport, varicose veins, stomach disorders, fluid retention. By acting on the eliminatory system,it is also used to combat cellulite and helps to combat the excess of fat in the body.

- Is a powerful antiseptic, is used in preparations to lotions after depilate or shaving, in compresses for the acne, massages diluted,for people that have received excessive medication, and even with children  in lotions to pediculosis.

- Help in processes of gout, hemorrhages or menstrual irregularities, flatulence, constipation.
