To cure varicose veins - part 1

Varicose veins affect nearly 50% of adults from the age 40. Veins just under the skin are the most affected, due to the tremendous tension that must be endured when an individual has to be standing hours during the day. For being in this position during the day the pressure against the vein may increase up to 10 times more.

 Therefore the people who by the work should be kept standing long periods have most risk of suffering from these disorders, among others: tired legs, edema, cold feet, hemorrhoids, phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, capillary fragility, frostbites, etc.

Women are more affected than men,up to 4 times more, the obese individuals are at greater risk; the risk increases with age due to the loss of tone of the tissues, loss of muscle mass and the weakening of the vascular walls.

Pregnancy can also lead to the appearance of varicose veins due to increasing pressure on the veins in the legs.

Varicose veins treatments
Horse-chestnut
Horse-chestnut is a great veno tonic; a substance that improves venous tone, increased the potential of contraction of the elastic fibers of the venous wall.  The relaxation of the vein's wall contributes greatly to the development of varicose veins and in particular improves the venous circulation of  return to the lower extremities.
Its active principle most researched is the aescina, compound isolated from the seeds which acts as anti-inflammatory.

Products of Horse-chestnut
How to take it
is recommended to take between 50 and 100 mg of aescin, fasting for a minimum of 3 months and then follow with a long-term maintenance. To get 50 mg of aescin, the active principle, it is necessary to take between 250 and 300 mg of standardized extract.

There are other herbs and nutrients very valuable in the treatment of circulatory disorders that can complement perfectly to the Chestnut tree of and maximize its impact giving faster results and lasting:

* Ruscus (Ruscus aculeatus).
* Grape seed extract.
* Vitamin C - with bioflavonoids.

Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not take Indian Chestnut tree but it can be replaced by the vitamin C with Bioflavonoids and routine.

Ruscus
Ruscus, very similar in its action to the Horse-chestnut, works selectively as veno tonic in the lower extremities and as anti-inflammatory, thanks to its active principle, kvercenine. In most clinical studies was used ruscus in combination with vitamin C and bioflavonoids with excellent results and no side effects to treat patients that demonstrated disorders of chronic venous insufficiency, edema, itching, heaviness in the legs and cramps. The results appear to be due that the ruscus effects increase the tone of the venous wall.

Grape seed extract
Grape seed extract is rich in proantocyanidins, flavonoid substance that returns our flexibility and integrity to the venous wall, is an anti-inflammatory and also inhibits the excessive permeability of the capillaries, therefore reducing nuisance problems such as edema. It is especially indicated for the prevention and treatment of varicose veins, hemorrhoids, phlebitis edema and poor circulation.

Routine (concentrate)
For a long time there are very positive studies on the effects of the routine in the reduction of capillary fragility, the tendency to bruising and nosebleeds, in addition to the vascular benefits. When taken in combination with vitamin C and with other citrus bioflavonoids (hesperin, etc. ), the effect is similar to the effects of the proantocyanidins.

We will continue with how to treat varicose veins in the next article (Part 2).
